Kemryn Lawrence

Kemryn Lawrence is a dynamic nonprofit leader, educator, and advocate for marginalized students. As the Founder & Executive Director of ProjectHBCU (Helping Beautiful Children Unite), she has spearheaded initiatives that bridge the gap between K-12 education and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), ensuring that bright students have access to higher education regardless of financial barriers.

Kemryn is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education at the University of California, Berkeley, with a focus on People, Policy, & Leadership. Her research examines the K-12 School-to-Prison Pipeline, college access disparities, and the role of restorative justice in education. She previously earned a Master of Public Administration from Clark Atlanta University, where she served as the 35th SGA Graduate President and was recognized as a White House HBCU Scholar.

With a background in nonprofit leadership, policy research, and civic engagement, Kemryn has worked with institutions like Mastery Charter Schools, Education Pioneers, and the NAACP. She envisions a future where HBCUs thrive globally, aspiring to establish the first HBCU in Africa. Through ProjectHBCU, she continues to inspire, mentor, and uplift the next generation of leaders.

Daikerra Sweat

Daikerra Sweat is a dedicated Human Resources professional and strategic leader, bringing her expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, and project management to her role as Chair of the Board for ProjectHBCU (Helping Beautiful Children Unite). With a background in psychology and a current pursuit of an MBA, Daikerra is passionate about fostering inclusive opportunities for underrepresented students and ensuring that young scholars have the resources they need to succeed in higher education.

In her professional role at Dell Technologies, Daikerra has developed and led internship programs, managed HR operations, and implemented talent acquisition strategies that align with global industry trends. Her expertise in applicant tracking systems, AI-driven recruitment, and strategic cultural enhancements allows her to provide invaluable insight into ProjectHBCU’s mission of supporting students on their journey to and through college.

As Board Chair, Daikerra is committed to strengthening mentorship, leadership development, and access to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Her leadership ensures ProjectHBCU remains at the forefront of educational equity, student empowerment, and systemic change.
